LZ 127 "Graf Zeppelin"
Folder Vol. II

10 Postcards

Up for sale is a fantastic and rare piece of aviation history: a vintage souvenir fold-out booklet featuring the legendary German airship, the LZ 127 Graf Zeppelin. This specific item is a notable find for collectors, as it is folder number two of a three-part series, clearly marked with a faint Roman numeral "II" on the front cover. The cover reads "LZ 127 GRAF ZEPPELIN - 10 verschiedene Postkarten in echt Photographie," indicating it contains ten different real photo postcards. Inside the front flap, you will find original German text detailing the technical specifications and data of this magnificent airship.

The accordion fold-out reveals stunning, high-quality images capturing both the exterior and the luxurious interior of the dirigible. The sequence of images begins with a striking portrait of a Zeppelin commander, likely Dr. Hugo Eckener. This is followed by impressive exterior shots of the massive LZ 127 positioned closely outside its hangar and a scenic, distant view of the Zeppelin hangars in the landscape. For technical enthusiasts, there is a detailed diagram showing the longitudinal section, floor plan, and cross-section of the airship. The interior views are exceptionally captivating, offering glimpses into the navigation bridge or control room with its large viewing windows, the dedicated radio room for communications, and the modern electric kitchen where passenger meals were prepared. The luxurious passenger experience is beautifully documented through photos of the spacious main lounge, as well as private passenger cabins. These cabins are shown in two configurations: their daytime setup featuring a comfortable sofa and folding table, and their nighttime setup converted with upper and lower bunk beds.

The LZ 127 Graf Zeppelin was a German-built and -operated, passenger-carrying, hydrogen-filled,
rigid airship which operated commercially from 1928 to 1937. It was named after the German pioneer
of airships, Ferdinand von Zeppelin, who was a count (Graf) in the German nobility.
