Leni Riefenstahls Olympia Film

A booklet of outstanding rarity, which is usually missing from advanced collections and libraries.

It's on the filming of the movie "Olympia" from August 1-16, 1936, on the grounds of the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin.

The film itself was not released until 1938 in two parts. Numerous black-and-white photographic reproductions by Grimm, Lantin, and Gronat document the filming process. Leni Riefenstahl, the world-famous German photographer and filmmaker, who is featured in several photos, lived on the Ruhwald grounds from May 1936, where the shooting took place in spaces designed by Erna von Haustein and Lorenz Zilken in the Bauhaus spirit.

This document does not focus on the events and Olympic award ceremonies filmed by Leni Riefenstahl, but rather on the behind-the-scenes of the shoot, as captured by the three aforementioned photographers.
