DECISIVE HOURS

sub titled: with the camera at the enemy

Following a 30 page text introduction, this book is composed
of the very best combat photography produced up to that time, and has a substantial color section.

The book was written by a war photographer and includes some brief writings in the beginning that cover the
Polish campaign, Norway, and the “West Offensive”. The pictures are excellent – and many do not appear to have
ever been used in any other postwar publication that I have seen. There are some super shots of early war uniforms,
double decal helmets, early Panzers – troops in action in Norway, Holland, France; shots of troops marching
through Dunkirk ruins, and street to street fighting. There are shots of pioneers with rafts crossing rivers,
conducting bridging operations under fire; Guderian appears in several shots.

The back section of the book offers some neat, early color pictures with some interesting shots
including a German flamethrower in action.

An excellent book with some great uniform reference pictures.
Many of which appear to have never been published before. Desirable!
