Germany's U-Boats
The Terror of England

A pictorial work by the German U-Boat Weapon

Following a 13-page introduction by engineer and corvette captain Kurt Kiel, this 80-page book features over 120 glossy photos of German U-boats at sea and docked in U-boat bunkers, U-boat crews in their cramped quarters and on deck, U-boat crews, wearing life jackets and testing their weapons during naval exercises, Adolf Hitler inspecting a submarine, and even Admiral Erich Raeder and Karl Donitz (commander of the German submarine fleet) introducing Hitler to the submarine crew that sank the British cruiser HMS Courageous after they returned to shore.

There are also several rare photos of U-boat commander Captain Gunther Prien on his U-boat and on an official visit to Berlin. After his famous victory north of Scotland on October 14, 1939, he was flown on Hitler's plane to Berlin-Tempelhof, where he received a hero's welcome and the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross.

Note: The usually missing, original foldable supplement about the English warships is also included. The overview contains precise details of all battleships, aircraft carriers, cruisers, destroyers, torpedo boats and submarines, and a small compilation of all smaller warships and auxiliary vessels with the name of the warship, year of launching, displacement, speed, armament and crew
