My Sketchbook
Like Hans Liska, Ernst Eigener was a famous artist in documenting the war with his pencil, by being embedded to the fighting troops. This rare book contains dozens of sketches done in the field by this well-known German combat artist.
This book is mostly set in 1939/1940 of the West Campaign in France (Westfeldzug).
Most of the artwork is black & white, a few are in color. The book mostly contains action szenes. They show Wehrmacht troops in action, horses, foreign P.O.W. prisoners (including French colonial Negro troops), bomb damaged towns, soldiers at rest and french civilians, refugees, artillery, tanks and more ....
