Youth in the Reich Book on HJ BDM of German KLV w/151 stunning photos

This very rare book shows boys / Pimpfe and BDM girls / Jungmadel from German cities and towns who were sent to camps in rural parts of the Reich. This was done through the KLV program which was affiliated to the Hitler Youth. KLV stands for Kinderlandverschickung (dispatch of children to rural areas). This program was started in 1939 with the begin of the war and until 1945 about 2.5 million children were send to 9,000 camps. The official version was that the children went to rural areas on "holiday" but especially as the war proceeded they really should be out of the cities and towns that had more and more difficulties feeding them and were being bombed by the Allies. A very interesting book on the Hitler Youth K.L.V. with lots of unique photos which are not published elsewhere.

With the rare Original Dust Jacket included, which is chipped, soiled, edgeworn and overall in good condition. Lower corner of book block slightly bumped, pages age toned, otherwise ok.
