of the landscape, cities and villages of Old Italy in the 1920s.

The photographer Kurt Hielscher travelled through Italien in the 1920s and made over 4200 photos
w/ premier photo equipment; his Zeiss Ikon/Ica camera and Zeiss objectives on Agfa Chromo Isorapid and
Chromo Isolar plates and Isopan films
His book represents the best 304 photos out of 4200 from Old Italy.
From the Alps to Sicily !!

This precious book was not affordable by too many people at that time.
And there is no other book of that time which comes close to the printing quality of that title.

Photographs titled in English, German, French, Italian and Spanish.

From the series "Orbis Terrarum" , a series of early photobooks portraying the regions of the world.

In fine exterior and fine interior condition.
With the rare Original slipcase included and with the rare Original Dust Jacket included, which is taped with acid free tissue paper. The gravure plates are very bright and clean. Pages look unread. The best copy I ever had.

All pages are complete and tight in the binding.
