Wien in Pictures 


A very beautiful pre-war photographic record of famous city Wien, which shows the city in the late 1920's prior ww2 war

Depicted are mainly the representative buildings of Vienna with their partly opulent facades and overwhelming architecture, the various churches and St. Stephen's Cathedral, the stately homes and palaces, the Hofburg, but also the National Library, Belvedere, Graben Column and St. Joseph's Column, fountains, Schonbrunn, Beethoven House, State Opera, Heldenplatz and more etc.

The photos were taken by famous photographer Bruno Reiffenstein.
Reiffenstein's extensive archive of architectural photos was also used to reconstruct damaged historical buildings after the WW2.
