The Olympic Games

This scarce stereo book was published by Stereo House

It has 64 pages, thick bevelled boards with four recesses to hold the
100 original stereographs (2-2/7" x 5") and the metal viewer.

The former boxer Ludwig Haymann has written an interesting text on the subject of the Summer Olympics 1936
in Berlin and the Winter Olympics in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
In the text, which is written in German, some of the 3D photos are pasted on 8 black cardboard pages.

The photos show the opening ceremonies, Olympic flags and bells, the Reichssportführer Hans von Tschammer und Osten,
the Olympic Stadium, the Dietrich Eckart Stage on the Olympic Grounds in Berlin, the Olympic Village,  Olympic medals, winter
and summer sports venues, spectators, the Olympic torch, athletes of all sorts in competition, notable dignitaries, television equipment
broadcasting the Olympic Games, the filming of the Olympics, Leni Riefenstahl, members of the press, autograph seekers,
and even the German railways in service of the Olympic Games.

The photos are double images printed from a negative onto photographic paper and appear very realistic (3-dimensional)
when viewed in the viewer. No other photographic process can give the viewer the feeling of actually "being there".
Each image is numbered and has a full description of the scene on the back.

Approx/Measurements of the book: 11-3/4" x 8-1/2"  ~2.9 lbs.

Condition of this stereoview book:
The book is in good exterior and good interior condition.
Extremities worn, tail of spine and lower corners frayed (shelfwear), occasionally faint foxing to text pages,
the 100 stereographs are in very good condition with the usual yellowing to some.
The metal viewer is in very good condition.
