A very rare book full of beautiful full page photographs (in high quality photo gravure technique)
of the landscape, people and monuments of old Sicily in Italy in the 1920s.
The photographer Paul Hommel travelled through Sicily in the 1920s and took many breathtaking photographs w/ premier photo equipment; his Contessa Nettel camera and Zeiss objectives on Hauff Plates.
Among the 124 pictures are photos depicting the beauty of Palermo with great buildings, as well as Monreale, many archaeological sites with temples, picturesque alleys in medieval towns, the Greek theater in Taormina and Siracusa, sulfur transports in Girgenti, destroyed monastery in Messina or etna eruption 1923 near Linguaglossa.
