German Sculpture

This scarce stereo book was published

It has 120 pages, with 8 full-page photos, thick, beveled boards with six cut-outs to hold the
135 original stereographs (2-2/7" x 5") of the Artists and Art, and the metal viewer.

There are eight full-page photos in the text that depict nudes, horses and portraits of the renowned sculptors Georg Kolbe,
Arno Breker, Josef Thorak and Adolf Wamper at work in their studios.

The massive eagles of Kurt Schmid Ehmen, the superb outdoor art of Josef Wackerie, the fabulous nudes of Fritz Klimsch,
and the sculptured busts of Ferdinand Liebermann are wonderfully presented.

Naturally, the subject of Third Reich sculpture covers a wide range. Among the 135 three-dimensional views are female nudes,
human busts of important figures like Adolf Hitler, Albert Speer, Gauleiter Wagner, Professor Dornier, Von Moltke,
Richard Wagner, male nudes, military figures and eagles, horses, tigers, as well as monumental figures created to decorate facilities of the
Luftwaffe, Reichsautobahn, Reichsbank, Wehrmacht, Hermann Goring’s Luftwaffe Ministerium, Hitler’s Berlin Reichschancellery, (several views),
Radio Deutschland, Ordensburgen of the NSDAP, the Feldherrnhalle, Reichsparteitaggelände (State Party Day Grounds) in
Nuremberg, the Berlin Olympic Stadium, etc. Many of the 3-D photographs were taken at the House of German Art in Munich.

The images are, of course, double images printed from a negative onto photographic paper and appear very realistic
(3-dimensional) when viewed by the viewer. No other photographic process can give the viewer the same feeling of actually "being there".
Each image is numbered and has a full description of the scene on the back.

Approx/Measurements of the book: 11-3/4" x 8-1/2"  ~2.9 lbs.
