A very rare book full of beautiful full page photographs (in high quality photo gravure technique)
of the landscape, cities, villages and culture of Old Romania and people in the 1930s.

The photographer Kurt Hielscher travelled 25,000 km through Rumänien in 1931 + 1932 and made 5000 photos
w/ premier photo equipment; his Zeiss Ikon/Ica camera and Zeiss objectives on Agfa Isochrom.
His book represents the best 304 photos out of 5000 from Old Romania.

This precious book was not affordable by too many people at that time.
And there is no other book of that time which comes close to the printing quality of that title.

From the series "Orbis Terrarum" , a series of early photobooks portraying the regions of the world.
