Mexico Pintoresco 


Brehme’s first, and arguably most accomplished, book. During the photographer's early years, traveling became a staple, and frequent visits to South America would soon lead him to explore most of Central America. Shortly after-Brehme became fascinated with the picturesque landscape of Mexico, and subsequently decided to establish residency in Mexico City, along with his own personal studio at 1a. San Juan de Letran No. 3 in Mexico City and the earliest postcards bear this address.

Hugo Brehme is considered the most important photographer in Mexico from the first half of the 20th Century.
