Published by the Reichs' Ministry for National Education and Propaganda, this album "Grossdeutschland im Weltgeschehen - Tagesbildberichte 1941" was intended to provide a reminder and an example to later generations of the 'heroic' sacrifices of the German nation in the "fight for freedom." The album contain photographs on a wide variety of subjects in the year 1941, and depict all aspects of life on the fighting and home fronts, including among others awards to heros, German military equipment, destroyed Allied equipment and aircraft, DAK troops fighting in Tobruk etc., German troops fighting in the east (Ostfront), foreign visitors to Germany, German industry and assembly lines, Adolf Hitler with generals, awarding Werner Molders the knights cross with brilliants and swords, leading party personalities and much more ......
The photos are arranged with a one-page outline listing the significance of the events of that month, and a list of significant dates is provided before each section of photographs. Normally three or four pages are devoted to any one month's activities with photographs. Each photo is captioned.
This is truly the largest Nazi Photo Album, I've ever seen. The weight is almost 10 lbs. !!!!!
In very good exterior and very good interior condition.
Minor wear to boards, one screw missing, the pebble-grain paper which is protecting the card-board pages with it's photos is also in very good condition. Occasional mild foxing. The photographs are in near mint condition beside the usual toning from age and glue.
