Dresden in Pictures 


A very beautiful pre-war photographic record of famous city Dresden in Saxony, which shows the city in the late 1920's/1930 prior ww2 war destruction, depicting many famous places and buildings, like the Lady's Church (Frauenkirche), Neumarkt, Catholic Church, Court Church,  Bruhl's Terrace, New City Hally, Stallhof, George-Gate, The Palace,  Fountain, Zwinger, The Green Vault, Picture Gallery, Japanese Palace, Marcolini Palace Neptune Fountain, Salzgasse, Palmstrasse, Judenhof, Altmarkt, Old City Hall, Munzgasse, Salzgasse, Feigengasse, Topfergasse, The Grosse Garten, Cosel Palace, Elias Cemetery, Opera House, Frederick Augustus Bridge, The Elbe, Freightbarges, Postplatz, The Last Cab Man, Neumarkt, Curch at Leubnitz, Russian Church, Gross-Sedlitz, Castle Moritzburg, Hohnstein Castle, Bridge at the Bastei, Meissen etc.

The photos were taken by famous photographer Franz Fiedler with his Leica, unfortunately his archive and studio was bombed and destroyed in February 1945. This book is one of the few books which survived the war in Germany.
