Dr. Paul WOLFF Leica Book 1936 Sun Sea Shore w/100+ photos East Frisia

Rare title of a series of Leica books, illustrated with gravure reproductions of summery photographs by famous photographer Dr. Paul Wolff. Lovely pictures of outdoor life and happy people in the dunes of the east frisian islands.
Mainly taken on Norderney and Borkum, which belongs to the Aurich "Kreis" (county) in Lower Saxony.

Photos cover the coast, dunes, sandhills, rough sea, ebb-tide designs, gulls, sea pastures, wad [Watt], landmarks, traditional dress/costume [Tracht], aeroplane, horse tramway, happy people resting and playing in the sand and dunes, golf links at Norderney, evening ride with horses on the shore and riding lesson in the sandhills, fine horsemanship and full gallop, sailing boats, canoe, shore-yacht, happy children, catching shrimps in the Wad etc ...  
 
There is also an index of photographs in the rear with all the technical data of the Leica shots.
The book has been published a few months after Oskar Barnack passed away, he is also praised in the foreword.

In good exterior and good interior condition.
Tail of spine frayed, faint foxing to edges, the gold lettering on the spine of the book is slightly flaking off, a few pages slightly (finger) soiled at margins, otherwise ok.

All pages are complete and tight in the binding.
