Breslau / Wrocław


This lavishly illustrated book is devoted to Breslau or Wroclaw, the largest city in western Poland. It is situated on the River Oder (Odra) in the Silesian Lowlands of Central Europe, roughly 350 kilometres (220 mi) from the Baltic Sea to the south and 40 kilometres (25 mi) from the Sudety Mountains to the south. Wrocław is the historical capital of Silesia and Lower Silesia. Today, it is the capital of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.

The wonderful book is depicting Breslau as it was in the 1930s and 1940s
prior war destruction in 1945 during the Battle of Breslau.
