Berlin in Pictures 


A very beautiful pre-war photographic record of German capital city Berlin, which shows the city in the late 1920's prior ww2 war destruction.

In striking photographs depicted are beautiful architecture, cityscape, street scenes, monuments and Potsdam scenery.
Among the photographs are pictures of Power Station Klingenberg, Dwelling Houses, Alexanderplatz, Museum, View of the Spree, Nussbaum, the Poststrasse, Krogel, Town Hall, St. Marys Church, Volksbuhne, Bulow-Platz, Western Harbor, Underground Railway, Humboldt Harbour, Spree Lock, Kaiser-Wilhelm- Bridge, Cathedral, Monument of the Great Elector, Fountains, The Royal Palace, The Old Museum, Exchange, Palace Bridge, New Guard House, Arsenal and Palace of the Crown Prince, University, Opera House, Church of St. Hedwig, Royal York Masonic Lodge, Unter den Linden, Gendarmen Markt, Schauspielhaus, Mosse Building, Potsdamer Platz, Foreign Office, Reichstag, Brandenburg Gate, Pariser Platz, Tiergarten, Charlottenburg Palace, Wannsee etc.

The photos were taken by famous photographer Sasha Stone.
Sasha Stone (1895–1940) was born in St. Petersburg to Jewish parents. He studied technical engineering at the Warsaw Technical Institute from 1911–1913 and immigrated to the United States in the same year, enlisted in the US Army, served during W.W.I. and was honorably discharge in 1919.

In good exterior and good interior condition
Boards stained, spine sunned, mild foxing to edges, prelims, endpapers and around the thread of the thread binding in the book. Gift inscription from old hand on front free endpaper.
