This lavishly illustrated book is devoted to Olsztyn (German: Allenstein), which is a city on the ?yna River in northeastern Poland, which is also the capital of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. The region is known as the "Thousand Lakes".
It has wonderful old photos from ~1910-1940 of an old German town in East Prussia, how it looked before it was plundered and burned by the conquering Soviet Red Army in 1945, when much of its German population fled.
