12 Original Eastern Front WW2 Photographs from Orel 

This is a very rare set of 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" PK photos depicting various winter scenes in Oryol,
located on the Oka River, approximately 368 kilometers (229 mi) south-southwest of Moscow.

The photos depicting: Oblast Committee Building of the Party, House of the City Soviets, Red Bridge,
Bank Building, Prison, View of the City Center, Bolkhov Street, Smolensk Church, Nikolopeskov Church,
Little Tower on the Red Bridge, Entrance Portal at the Bank Building, View to the Pokrov Church

During the German-Soviet war, Oryol was occupied by the Guderian's Panzer group of the
Wehrmacht on October 3, 1941, burst from the south-west.

The photos were taken by German PK prior soviet liberation on August 5, 1943 during the Oryol strategic
offensive operation "Kutuzov" on the Oryol-Kursk Bulge. Where the city was almost completely destroyed.
