Youth In Arms

Rare profusely illustrated documentary book about the military and paramilitary training about 20 million youth received in 1935/36 in Europe. Examined are Italy, Poland, Russia, France, England and Germany.

The original book description stated:
While the new Germany educates its youth in peaceful reconstruction work and endeavors to keep the horrors of war away from the younger generation, in many European countries young people are receiving military training and education. In around 80 unique pictures, the authors contrasted this military education of foreign youth with the peaceful will to rebuild that dominates the bearers of the German future.
