Your Volkswagen

This original 32-page brochure from 1938 is a masterpiece of early automotive art and has a very colorful front and back cover showing a 3/4 front view of the first Beetle against an Alpine background, with a savings booklet (Sparkarte) in the background, which was required to purchase one of the small cars.

The German artist of the colorful brochure cover was Werner von Axster-Heudtlass. His initials, vAH, can be seen in the bottom corner of the back cover. The rest of the brochure was printed in black and white.

Inside are many highly detailed full and half page photographs showing every aspect of the innovative little machines. The text explains the function of the vehicle, its features, the standard equipment, the purchase prices, the model options, the purchase contract, the delivery conditions, etc.
